Subject: Interview with Mike Conley

-Cook's Decision Surprises Conley-

Just a few weeks ago Mike Conley and Daequan Cook, both ranked number one at their positions, said that they would be package deal. After Cook made his decision to attend Ohio State University is that still the case? Mike Conley, who is ranked the number one point guard in his class, has some decisions to make. The 6-foot-1 guard, who has never been shy about his love fest for Wake Forest, is about to be pulled in a different direction.

His AAU teammate and friend, Daequan Cook just committed to play basketball for Thad Matta and the Buckeyes. The two were originally thought to be a package deal but is that still the case?

“Actually he didn’t call me,” Conley said. “That’s what surprised me about it. Normally I thought he would call me.”

So what kind of affect will Cook’s decision have on Conley?

“Right now I don’t know if it will affect it,” Conley replied. “It’s just more of a shock and random to me, that he just to committed out of the blue. So I mean I still feel the same way about Wake and everything, it hasn’t really changed my mind that much. It’s just going to give me another perspective with him going there.”

While the possibility of Conley and Cook playing at OSU does still exist Conley said that he still feels the same way about Wake Forest as he has always.

“Basically I feel the same. They took a hard loss it’s not going to change my mind about anything,” Conley replied. “I still like the school, the coaches, and it’s still the ACC so I still feel the same way about them pretty much.”

The slick point guard has his list of schools down to five and his list includes: Wake Forest, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Arkansas. He said that he wants to make his decision within the next few months and would love to get it done by the beginning or middle of the summer.
